Day-by-day itinerary
Day 01 — Thimphu riverside & the capital at bicycle pace Bikes fitted in the morning, then a flat riverside ride out along the Wang Chhu with the capital on your left — the Dzong, the archery ground and the craft quarter all passed at a speed that actually lets you look at them. An afternoon of optional riverside paths and a relaxed first dinner.
Day 02 — Chimi Lhakhang & the Paro valley descent A short morning ride to the Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of fertility and the Great Blessing, then the descent into the Paro valley — rice fields, apple orchards and farm tracks, with almost no traffic on any of it. The afternoon is a gentle 25 kilometres along the valley floor to Paro town.
Day 03 — Paro valley farm roads & the rest day A short, entirely flat loop through the orchards and villages on the valley floor, timed to be back well before lunch. The afternoon is deliberately free — for the Tiger's Nest, the National Museum, or nothing at all from a lounge chair with a view of the valley.
Day 04 — Paro town & the ride to the airport A last easy spin around Paro — the dzong, the ancient bridge and the riverside — before the bikes are loaded and you are driven to the airport. Luggage travels by vehicle, so the morning stays entirely in the saddle.
